In today’s fast-paced world, most of us are strapped for time. Whether people are working long hours, juggling full-time study, raising young children, or navigating city life with limited access to affordable organic food, there’s one constant: a chronic lack of time.

This deficit shows up in our food choices. Microwave meals, ultra-processed snacks with inscrutable ingredient lists, sugary breakfasts, and fast-food delivery at the tap of a button are now the norm. Even our produce is affected—genetically modified to look prettier and last longer, sometimes at the expense of up to 70% of its nutritional value.

Given these pressures, it’s hardly surprising that we’re not getting enough essential nutrients, minerals, and amino acids. Many of us have become dependent on pharmaceuticals to treat the health consequences—malnutrition, chronic illness, even generational health issues—turned into prescriptions.

I’m not making medical claims, and of course consulting your doctor for any health concerns is essential. But I do believe that providing our bodies with optimal nutrition, alongside other healthy lifestyle habits, could reduce the number of doctor visits and the reliance on prescriptions.

For people in the U.K., the pressure on the NHS—with waiting lists stretching for years—makes preventative health more important than ever. More and more people are realizing the value of taking responsibility for their physical and mental well-being.

While not all illnesses can be prevented, making informed choices about nutrition and lifestyle can help soothe and support the body. By prioritizing prevention, we can give ourselves a better shot at health—without relying solely on medical intervention.
