Wisdom tooth woes and a natural remedy! 🦷🌿

Today, my wisdom tooth decided to throw a tantrum — the gum's swollen, chewing is off the table, I’ve got a migraine, a sore throat… the whole package (all thanks to referred pain from that one tooth!).
It might be an infection from food sneaking under the gum. If you’ve ever had tooth trouble, you know it’s a special kind of awful.
I actually had an extraction back in January due to an abscess — not fun, but it really sparked my interest in nutrition and natural remedies.
This week is a busy one, and I don’t have time to wallow in a wisdom-tooth pity party. That said, I’m also a bit reluctant to run to the dentist unless absolutely necessary (past experiences... say no more 😬).
So — I’ve whipped up a strong, natural antibacterial mouthwash that also helps numb the gum. And honestly? I'm pretty happy with it, so I thought I’d share!
Fair warning: it’s potent, so to my lovely co-workers — I apologise in advance for the garlicky aroma that may follow me around this week 😂🧄
Homemade Antibacterial Mouthwash Recipe:
4 cloves garlic (diced)
1g fennel
1g ginger
1g lemon balm
1g peppermint
5ml clove oil
1g salt
1g turmeric
Pop everything into a saucepan and gently heat for about an hour. Try not to boil it — we want to keep all the good stuff intact!
This is just a natural alternative that’s worked for me. I’m not a professional, so please do your own research or chat with your dentist if you’re having dental issues.
Stay well and keep smiling (even if it’s through slightly clenched teeth 😅)!.
